Exciting Events
Events explained.....
When you join Freesoles Dance there will always be events and activities for you to look forwards to including a variety of performances, workshops and social activities.
Open days are a chance for you to come in to the school and watch your child's class. This is a chance to observe dance class as it is delivered on a week by week basis, to see what and how your child is learning and to ask and questions you may have. It is also a chance for teachers to feedback to you and discuss your child's progress. Our next open days will be early 2026.

Exams and mock exam practices
Exams are a great opportunity to showcase work that has been practiced and developed to a high standard. Dance exams are a fabulous mark of achievement and demonstrate a commitment and level of expertise in the discipline studied. At Freesoles Dance we offer educational and vocational qualifications at all levels and have something to suit everyone but not all children will take the same exams or at the same time because we believe in only entering children for exams we know are right for them. There is no escaping though that exams are hard work, require commitment, attention and perseverance and so children need as much practice and support as possible which is why we also run mock exam sessions and exam practice days to allow children to orientate themselves and become familiar with live dance exam etiquette and to be well prepared. We love everyone to be confident, happy and capable on exam day, Our next whole school exam session is planned for June 2026
Workshops
At Freeeoles Dance we understand the importance of giving young dancers a breadth of opportunity and experiences and are keen to bring as many dance styles to our students as possible. In the past we have hosted workshops by the prestigious Northern ballet based on Beauty and the Beast and The Ugly Duckling and hosted an evening of Freestyle dance (at no additional charge) for all students across all disciplines age 6 and upwards. Keep your eyes open for 2026 workshops which will be announced soon. At Freesoles we run external workshops for our students each year and these are always really popular events that bring excitement and inspiration to our students.
Shows
Our next school show will be 'Freesoles - The Magic Within". This will show at Parkway Theatre on the 25th January 2026 at 5.30pm. Tickets go on sale from the 23rd November 2025! Our whole school shows include all groups (apart from baby boogie) including adult classes. This show will be an extravaganza of everything magical and fantasy brough to the stage with oooooddles of glitter, fizz and imagination. Our annual sows always cause excitement in the school and we can not wait to show you what we are working on for next year.
school events for children....
Everything Autumn dress up and dance week will be 27th October to the 1st November. Any fancy dress in any Autumn theme, with classes including various autumn themed dance routines, games, crafts and fun! These classes are super popular every year and not to be missed!!
Our Freesoles Winter Wonderland event will be something to look forward to! The day will start at 10.30 am For Student show will then spend the morning making our 'Winter wonderland' show! At 2.00pm we will be inviting families in to show what we have made! Everyone is welcome for what is guaranteed to be a fun, fabulous and funny way to end the term!
Christmas events: as we approach winter we will share dates with you for upcoming Christmas socials for various groups within the school. Please keep an eye on newsletters for all Christmas socials.
In addition to our lovely in house events we at Freesoles we offer the opportunity to dance in larger showcase events, community events and to take part in competitions. As a non selective school we allow ALL children to take part in any activities they want to, we do not select specific children for specific events. We are already booked for Hull's Gotta Dance 2026 on 30th June and as we add more events more dates will follow.
